The guide pairs a review of exam content with two full-length practice tests. Each answer comes with an explanation, so candidates can see why an option is right and why the others are not. Tips drawn from experienced alcohol and drug counselors address how to approach the exams themselves, and the publisher includes additional online resources.
It serves counseling students and working professionals preparing for certification. This edition was published in 2023. Requirements and content outlines differ by state and credentialing board and are revised over time, so candidates should confirm their exam's current outline with their board and use this guide alongside it.
